French Islands

This mission experience continues to be an amazement!  We have to pinch ourselves to realize that we actually are flying all over the Caribbean and sharing family history.  We flew first to Martinique and taught a wonderful small group of members.  The french island saints love family history and so they love us to visit them.  One sister even fixed lobster for Clyde's birthday and gave me her necklace that I admired.  Such sweet saints!  They pray each day at 7 am and 7 pm to become a  stake. Martinique is a beautiful green island with rolling hills.  Next we visited Guadeloupe and helped them fix up their family history center.  They are great genealogists and do lots of research so they were thrilled when we changed a micro fiche reader that they cannot use anymore to a micro film reader which they use all the time.  Just a small act of service turned into a huge gratitude.  In the evening we had a great turn out of Priesthood leaders and members anxious to learn new family search.  It is so wonderful to go do the Lord's work where members love what you are teaching.  There was such enthusiasm!  Last we flew to St. Marteen which only has a handful of members but they welcomed us just the same.
